YARACE organized a four-day trip to Beihai for all of its members from January 4 to 7, 2020, to thank them for their hard work in 2019, enrich their life, strengthen team cohesion, and further boost their enthusiasm at work.
Beihai, located at the southern end of Guangxi Province and on the northeast coast of the Beibu Gulf, is a beautiful city with subtropical coastal scenery, including pristine environment, clear blue water, soft sandy beaches, and lush vegetation, which always deeply impress and enchant visitors.
On January 4, YARACE’s members arrived in Beihai by plane, and then checked into the hotel. After a brief rest, they eagerly headed to their first destination — Beihai Silver Beach, the renowned “First Beach in the World”. What makes Silver Beach most distinctive is not its seawater but its sand. Under the sun, the white and fine sand shimmers like silver, and you will feel as soft as flour when stepping on the sand. The members strolled along the beach, played in the water, and enjoyed the sunset until they had to leave as night fell.
The following day, the members started with a bus tour along the scenic Beihai Coastal Highway, and then proceeded to the Beibu Gulf Square. There, they admired the ancient ficus trees and the city sculpture “South Pearl Soul”, which embodies the essential qualities of the Beihai people. YARACE’s members gathered for a group photo at this location.
Next, the members took a bus to Beihai Shell Museum, where an array of exquisite shell artworks could be found, including ornaments, decorations, furniture, paintings, and three-dimensional carvings. Each of them was crafted with great care, leaving visitors in awe.
After lunch, the members made their way to Beihai Old Street, with a history of nearly two centuries and stretching for 1.44 kilometers. The street is lined with arcade buildings presenting a combination of Chinese and Western elements. Here, you can find specialties like shrimp cakes, squid balls, coconut jelly, agar-made jelly, and dried silver fish, as well as shell and pearl jewelry and trinkets, along with seafood. As you stroll leisurely down this lengthy old street, you'll see cats basking in the sun, which further makes you feel that even time slows down.
The next destination is Weizhou Island, which can be reached by ship. Formed by volcanic eruptions, the island boasts sea erosion, sea deposition, and lava rock formations, earning it the nickname “Paradise Island”. It is the youngest volcanic island in China by geological age and the largest island in Guangxi Province. During the one-hour journey on the ship, YARACE’s members enjoyed the breathtaking coastal scenery through the portholes.
Upon arriving at Weizhou Island, the members began their free time activities. In the evening, they enjoyed a seafood feast together. The seafood freshly purchased from the market was incredibly delicious.
The destinations on the third day was the Volcano Crater Geopark and the Catholic Church.
The weather was perfect that day. The members could enjoy vibrant flowers and massive ficus trees throughout the hiking trail. As they arrived at the crater, namely the base of the Crocodile Hill, the sea breeze greeted them, accompanied by the breathtaking views of the turquoise sea and clear blue sky. The sea breeze created waves that danced upon the shore. When walking along the coastal promenade, you are truly strolling through a picturesque scene.
The Catholic Church in Shengtang Village, Weizhou Island, is a Gothic church with elements of medieval Europe. One of its distinctive features is that its walls are built by local volcanic ash blocks and coral stones, giving it an ancient and rustic charm. The scenery along the path to the church is so captivating that visitors cannot help slowing down.
The final day featured an exciting beachcombing activity, where YARACE’s members got to experience life as fishermen firsthand: hauling nets, gathering shells, digging for sand crabs and sandworms, and collecting sea duck eggs. Everyone's efforts paid off — earning a bowl of seafood soup to each table for their lunch.
This trip to Beihai organized by YARACE has successfully concluded. This trip not only allowed everyone to take a break from their busy work and immerse themselves in the beauty of nature, but also promoted full communication among them and enhanced their awareness of teamwork and the company’s care. It is believed that after fully relaxing their both body and mind, everyone will face life and work with a more positive mindset and brave new challenges.
